Introduction
Capsla is a Pomodoro timer app designed to help users stay focused and manage time effectively.
We respect your privacy. Capsla is designed to collect as little information as possible.
Data We Collect
Capsla does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise location.
The app may collect anonymous usage data and crash reports through third-party services to improve performance and reliability.
This data may include:
- app interactions (e.g. session duration, feature usage)
- device type, OS version, and general region
- crash logs and diagnostics
This information does not identify you personally.
How We Use Data
Any locally stored data is used only to provide app functionality, such as:
- saving timer duration
- remembering your preferences
- improving your user experience inside the app
iCloud Sync
If you are signed in to your Apple Account and iCloud is enabled, your phase history and focus tags sync across your devices.
What syncs:
- records of completed phases: phase type, planned and actual duration, start and end time, cycle number, outcome and time zone
- focus tags: title, color, icon, order and what to save to Health
This data goes into the private database of your own iCloud account. The developer of Capsla has no access to it and cannot read it: syncing is handled by Apple under its own terms — Apple Privacy Policy.
Your selection of apps to block does not sync — it stays on the device.
You can turn syncing off in the system iCloud settings by disabling Capsla there. Your data stays on the device.
Screen Time
Capsla can block selected apps while you focus. This requires Screen Time access, and it is requested only when you turn blocking on.
Apps are chosen in Apple’s own system dialog. Capsla receives opaque tokens from the system and does not see the names of the apps you selected — it has no way of learning what you picked.
The tokens are stored on your device only. They are not sent to the developer, not shared with third parties, and not included in iCloud sync.
Capsla does not request or read Screen Time statistics — how much time you spend in apps is unknown to it.
You can revoke access in the system settings, under Screen Time. Deleting the app deletes your app selection along with it.
Health
Capsla can save finished focus phases to the Health app. Saving stays off until you turn it on yourself in Capsla’s settings (“Save to Health”), and Health access is requested only at that moment.
You choose what to save in each tag. Only finished focus phases longer than a minute, with a tag that has saving turned on, are saved.
Depending on the tag, Capsla saves:
- mindful minutes, for example for the “Meditation” tag
- workouts — walking, running, cycling, yoga, strength training or another workout, for example for the “Walk” and “Sport” tags
For each phase, Health receives its start and end time and the kind of entry. The tag’s title and other Capsla data are not sent there.
Capsla only writes to Health and reads nothing from it. What it writes is not sent to the developer, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, and not included in analytics or crash reports. The Health app itself stores and syncs this data under Apple’s rules.
While your iPhone is locked, Health cannot be written to. In that case the entry briefly waits on your device and is saved once you unlock it.
“Clear history” in Capsla deletes everything Capsla saved to Health. You can also delete individual entries in the Health app. To stop saving, turn off Capsla’s access in the Health app or turn saving off in Capsla’s settings.
Calendar
Capsla can add your focus sessions to the Calendar app. This stays off until you turn on “Save to Calendar” in Capsla’s settings yourself, and Calendar access is requested only at that moment.
Capsla asks only for permission to add events. With this permission, it can’t see your calendars or events, including the ones it added.
Each session becomes one event in the calendar you choose, from the start of the first focus phase to the end of the last one. The event contains the tag names, the focus time and the number of finished focus phases.
Nothing about your calendar or these events is sent to the developer, shared with third parties, used for advertising, or included in analytics or crash reports. Calendar itself stores and syncs the events under the rules of Apple and your calendar account.
Because Capsla can’t see the events it added, “Clear history” doesn’t remove them. You can delete them in the Calendar app. To stop saving, turn it off in Capsla’s settings or revoke access in Settings, under Capsla.
“Schedule in Calendar” opens the standard iOS window for a new event. Capsla needs no permission for that and doesn’t learn what you save there.
Third-Party Services
Capsla uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Analytics — for anonymous usage analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics — for crash reporting and diagnostics
These services are provided by Google LLC and may collect anonymous information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Capsla does not use this data to personally identify users.
Data Retention
Data stored locally on your device remains there until you delete the app or clear the app’s data, if such an option is available.
If iCloud sync is on, a copy of your data remains in your iCloud account even after you delete the app. You can remove it in the system iCloud settings, under account storage management.
Entries Capsla saved to Health stay there after you delete the app. You can remove them with “Clear history” before deleting Capsla, or in the Health app itself.
Events Capsla added to Calendar stay there after you delete the app. You can delete them in the Calendar app.
Children’s Privacy
Capsla does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We aim to keep the app simple and privacy-friendly. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
